Kris Hovestadt

I have been teaching at Kalamazoo Country Day School for 20-plus years. I taught second grade for several years and then moved up to work with middle school students as a tutor and writing teacher. I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois, and my master's degree in reading from Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas. I have seen numerous changes in teaching methods and  curriculum over the years, but one idea remains the same: I have always loved what I am doing.
