Fifth Grade
This year the fifth graders will be learning about plants and human growth in science. In social studies they will be studying the Civil War and will be reading novels at read-aloud time and in reading class. They will be going to an art program at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts and visiting the Kalamazoo Valley Museum for a planetarium program. They will also be visiting the Chenery Auditorium and the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. The fifth graders' favorite things are Spanish, art, kindergarten buddies, read-aloud, Civil War reports and snack time.
Catherine Street
Mrs. Street has enjoyed teaching fifth graders at KCDS since 2005. A lifelong learner, she has degrees from Kalamazoo College, and Wayne State and Grand Valley State universities. Mrs. Street has a son who has been attending KCDS since preschool. An avid sports fan, she is a huge Notre Dame football follower.
