Application Process
Inquiries should be made to our Director of Admissions. Prospective students and their parents are invited to visit the school, attend classes and meet with the Head of School.
Upon receipt of the application, student/parent questionnaires and previous school records, a prospective student is asked to spend a day at Kalamazoo Country Day School. During the visit, individualized testing – including a writing sample – is completed with the classroom teacher.
The application portfolio is reviewed by the Admission Committee, which is composed of the Director of Admissions, the Head of School, a tutorial specialist, and faculty members from lower and middle schools. In all instances, Kalamazoo Country Day School retains the right to determine, at its sole discretion, whether to select a student for admission or to re-enroll a student.
Kalamazoo Country Day School admits qualified students of any sex, race, religion, or national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion, physical disability, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, financial aid program, athletic program and other school-administered programs.
Kalamazoo Country Day School is a nonprofit, nonsectarian independent school. It is nondiscriminatory in its educational policies, scholarship programs and school-administered programs.
